I need some help with my ignition badly. I changed the coil, PTU, plugs, i dont know what else it could be besides the computer or CAS. I doesnt do it all the time, just when it wants to, seems like it does it more so after i drive it..turn it off, and start it back up. The last 2 coil ports stop firing, then will kick back in. No clue. I diagnosed it and the only code that it threw was the TPS, nothing else. Please help..
 
You have changed almost everything so you can either swap out the last few remaining things or sit down and figure out why it doing what it doing. Your going to need a good multimeter so that you can measure short signals. It might help to start by cleaning and tightening the connectors and inspecting the wiring between the ECU to the PTM to the coil and making sure you have good power to them as well.

Clear the ECU codes, if the TPS code comes back you'll need to fix that too.

While it's acting up you need to check at the PTM to make sure that the ECU is pulsing both coil channels and that the PTM is pulling the coils low in response. From there your either going to move to the coil and check or back to the ECU depending on what you find.

took ecu out again to inspect, there is some burning going on around one of the capacitors. smells like dead fish a little. any idea what the capacitor next to the small one does??
 
It by itself won't take out just one of the coil sets. If the +5 is bad the whole ECU acts up or doesn't work.

The electrolyte leakage and corosion damage caused by it (the "burns") can cause all sorts of strange things but usually the cap leaking winds up taking out things like the fuel pump or all of the solenoids, coils, ISC in one shot.
It's always fun when I'm fixing them to try and figure out what got eaten up by how then act.
