i have a minor oil leak now and it appears to be coming out of my oil cap. its sitting down in the spark plug valley (not in the wells themselves, just on the top of the valve cover). i replaced the oil cap with a new one, still leaked. i thought the pcv valve may have been clogged so i replaced it also. i used RTV around the whole valve cover gasket when i re-installed it yesterday, it solved the oil leak i did have, now i have it leaking out of my oil cap?? is there any reason for this or would it be leaking from another area?

You're probably right about the oil cap being the source. It is leaking because it obviously doesn't have a good seal. Inspect the cap seal for damage and if it looks okay, try gently bending the locking tension tabs up a little.
