at 1500 to 2000 rpms when you give it a little gas or no gas it jerks violently, but if I pull off the TP sensor it runs fine but it seems to give me high EGTs up to 1300deg. I was wondering if it could be the MAFT ( I have the chevy MAF ) not being calaberated correctly. Or posibly a bad o2 sensor? Is it safe to be driving it with the TP un hooked? It also idles like crap, serges some times and some times idels extreamly low. Serges really bad when the TP is hooked up. please help

I tryed a new TP though, and it made no diffrence,So im pretty sure its not the TP. thats why I brought it to the advanced section.

Have you logged it to see what it is doing? Have you made sure it is adjusted properly?

The car probably just thinks it's supposed to be idling.

i have the same exact problem. So far I changed the Ecu and there is no difference at all. Does your car feel like it's losing alot of power? When i get on mine i just don't feel the boost kicking in like it should. Whenever i hook up the tps my car feels like it hits fuel cut when i get past 1500 or 2000 rpm.. lemme know if you find anything out

To me it sounds like you dont have your idle position closed switch connected.

when you find out what the problem is, could you post it? cuz im having similar difficulties with my tps, i just replaced it and it every so often when i mash the gas heavily jerks for a sec before it takes off, my idle speed control sensor (isc) is also acting up as well, could it be a combinating of those two units?

the TPS wasent positioned right, just had to move it around untill it ran correct, and I think the other 2 I tryed where bad TPS cause no matter what the car stiLOL jerked horibly. all fixed though, thanks for the help

my car jerks at 2000 rpms and if i put it in neutral and hold it at 2000 rpms it starts to bounce up up and down like 500rpms but its only at 2000 that was after i adjusted the tps to the right voltage at idle. how should i adjust it? someone said in an other thread that some times if you get it right at idle it may not be right at WOT.

but its not unplugged thats the weird thing. I have another question, I was reading Steve's method for adjusting the tps/ips. When you are testing the pins on the tps do you leave it plugged in and also do you turn the ignition on at all or what?

On a 2G the connector has to be off to get at the pins for the IPS. You use a multimeter on the resistance scale to see when the switch open and closes as you adjust the TPS while you have a feeler gauge holding the throttle plate open to spec.

Check the resistance between ground and your switch to ensure its getting a good ground also.
