Hey I just got done with a big whole ordeal every gasket, water pump, both belts, and after putting in the correct flywheel(long story see other posts) changing the clutch and putting the engine back in the car the car starts then idels for about 3 seconds then stalls out. I tried playing with the afc, thinking maybe it was a fuel problem but that did not work so then I change out the plug wires thinking maybe something went wrong there because they had been sitting around on the garage floor for a long time but that was not it (yes the plugs are also new). So now I am thinking maybe the car needs the timing adjusted? I dont know though and need help please any suggestions on what to do?

thanks Troy

try grounding out pin 7 on your mpi relay if it stays running its your ecu that is where the grd comes from after start up and the key is in the on position..

What engr2er didn't say was thats how the ECU controls the fuel pump. Another quick check is to apply 12v to the fuel pump check connector in the engine compartmant but what engr2er suggested will help you get to the root cause where using the check connector just confirms that the reason it's dieing is the pump tunring off.

did on on board diegnostics test and it through a camshaft scensor malefunction would this cause my car to stall out?

CAS? is that the same sensor I am talking about? or are you saying cam angle sensor or is that the same thing? also when I took the car apart last year the motor was running when it was pulled. I am also getting no vacume in the time that my car does idel for the few seconds it does which is also weird I am very confused at this point

well update put in the new cam angle sensor and thats not it vacume only reads 10 for the few seconds the car idels and stalls out and I have no idea what to do next I dont know what it is any other suggestions???? engine ran fine before I pulled it out, the isc was changed by the previous owner of the car probably about 15 to 20 k ago, I dont think its the ecu because that was fine before the engine came out I dont know, Is it possible I have to much of a vacume leak and thats whats causing it, I know the gauge is saposed to read about 20 when it idels but for the few seconds the car does it only reads 10 I need help and am just about willing to pay some one to come take a look at it!
