i just installed a greddy 24r when i took it for a drive today after installing. The boost was only going to 14 pounds when i have the boost controller set for 17-18. There are no boost leaks except for when the car is idle the boost controller is bleeding off boost(it a home made onefrom homedepot) i don't get it it never did that before did i hook something up wrong. i can understand some pressure drop for the size of this intercooler and its only a big16g but is 4 pounds a little excessive. i did i boost leak test and the boost was only leaking from the boost controller. i'm working on getting a better one.

A good MBC shouldn't leak or suck at idle.

The idea behind a ball gate boost controller is that the WGA side is sealed from intake vacuum/pressure until right around the point you set you boost to.

The vent is there to release the pressure that would be trapped in the Wastegate Actuator whenever you dropped below the MBC pressure setting. If it didn't get vented the Waste Gate would open once and never close. The rest of the time the gate valve is supost to be held closed by the spring inside.
