OK.

Ill make it quick. started leaking coolant bout 2 weeks ago. oil level started dropping. has overheated twice in past 2 weeks. took it in to get checked, mechanics replaced thermostat, didnt find any radiator leaks or problems. They drove it, and said it had the symptoms of a cracked head gasket. mechanic said he didnt know if it had a cracked head yet. replacing a head gasket seems to be the way to go with these cars. so it's either i get as much help as i can from my few friends and you guys, or im ####ed. i need the car in 1 week to get to school. tell me what i have to do, and ill do it.

please respond, im desperate... i dont want to lose my baby. i know this is really pathetic.

     :barf:

I'd do a compression check to see if the head gasket is sealing properly, if compression is low then that does sound like the problem. Also if you do change the HG, make sure the head isnt warped or anything, don't wanna blow it again. Good luck!

Is there like a step by step guide to replacing a HG on a 4g63 anywhere? THAT would be awesome. I already bought a new HG just in case it really is the problem.

NICE! this is a nice start! any other tips or advice on replacing a head gasket would be great. I KNOW some of you guys have done this before....

HOly shit. that is in depth. all these gaskets to replace... :-/ not fun. is the Cometic head gasket a good buy? because i kinda already bought it.

Yes, its a very involved ordeal, thats the reason I havent pulled my head to have the valve seals redone. I've heard great things about the cometic head gasket, its comparable with the best so I've been told. :thumb:

Well, did a compression test yesterday

Well i pulled the head off my motor. Now begins the fun task of replacing things with performace parts :D Firts things first, head bolts.
