Brake problems. I think

i have a 90 laser rs turbo. a grinding noise is comming from my wheels. When I checked all of the pads they were all good. the rotors had spots of rust on them so i took it off with a super fine steel whool (sp?) pad. that still didnt stop the sound. if anyone can help me it would be greatly apprciated.

there is quards behind the rotors that may be scraping against them or maybe the pads are too close to the rotors

Never really heard of, nor have I ever experienced, my pads being too close to my rotors. I actually like my pads and rotors to have a close relationship.

If your guard (or backing plate) is warped or got bent somehow, it could rub against your rotor causing a scraping sound. If it is bent, just bend it away from the rotor. No science involved there.

found out it was a warped rotor.
