I think (already off to a bad start) my car has a plugged cat...if that isnt the case then i dunno what it is

Here goes another my car is broke theard

i pull my car out of my driveway and running up to about 2800 where it begins to boost the car bucks and dies...and blows off the uicp piping..??????

please help

thanks, nate

Blowing off the UICP piping wouldn't really point to a plugged cat. If that is the only symptom pointing to a plugged cat I'd carefully check the clamps and hoses to the IC before moving on.

A plugged converter will cause the car to die or at least be really sluggish whether or not you're under boost. Might occur sooner or be more obvious the faster the engine is running though.

To check for a plugged cat I'd loosen the bolts from the downpipe to the cat so that exhaust gas can escape, then try running the car (no, not around town, in your garage or driveway) and see if the engine dies. Other people might use the O2 sensor hole, but then you lose fuel feedback.

i said the cat b/c my car was running rich from venting my diverter valve to the atmoshphere...and i kno raw fuel can cause cats to get plugged

Ne other ideas about the icp.....i have the dejon tool setup upper and lower...its blowing off the upper piece that runs from the top of the intercoooler to the tb elbow

diverter valve
anyways, your blow-off valve would cause your car to die if a sudden drop in rpm occurs but this doesnt seem to be the case. btw, reroute to intake before you kill yourself or someone else. dont vent until you have a blow-through maf to do so. however, if its spooling, it may be venting a little bit which would cause your car to buck and die. reroute and give us the results.
