Okay, since I bought the car, when you started the car, I assume a belt, would squeal for a second, then stop. Well today it was colder then hell for some reason, so I turned my heat on, and *BAM* there goes the squealing again. The sqealing would stop when i put the car in neutral but as soon as I gave it gas, whether in gear, in neutral, or with the clutch down, the squealing would keep going. So i hit the gas in 1st and started going, and it kept sqealing, as soon as I turned the heat off, it stopped. Any clue? I thought it was Power Steering, but maybe not. Thanks in advanced!

check all of your belts and make sure they're not too loose if so tighten til squeeling stops granted you don't do tighten while the car is running.........

I had the same problem. Look to see if your belt's ridges are intact...if some of them are missing or cracked, you'll need to replace the belt. It's most likely the belts. They can be had at autozone at 20 bucks for both the AC and alternator belt. :thumb:

Also, make sure that they're pulled tight too. :p

My last owner, supposedly disconnected the AC, I know it sure as hell doesnt get cold, and he said that he disconnected the belt, so I dont think it would be that. My pw steering is way tight. you think it may be the alt? why would this be affected by the heater?

Where is that? What am I looking for? Sorry I am not too mechanically inclined, this is my learning car OMG
