how do i tell if it is a SBR2g20g turbo that i got on ebay?

So i got my brand new $760 Slowboy Racing 2g 20g turbo in the mail today off ebay. but i was woundering if there was certian numbers or anything i could look for to see if it really is what i was expecting or some knock off or even a smaller 18g or 16g. if anyone cou ld help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any pictures of the turbo? I wouldent trust buying a turbo unless it was from a company over the net, A well known company even.

Well, it looks like a 20g compressor wheel but all I can tell you.

But I dont think it a sbr 2g 20g. I thought their turbo used the tdo5 housing with a 90degree outlet welded on.

Like I said, loosks like a 20g but if you go to http://www.slowboyracing.com/Mitsubishi Turbos/SBR-2g20g/2g20g.html They show it as a tdo5 with the elbow welded on.

My bad, its a t3 compressor cover, not a tdo5.

That second one has the SBR rep here at the site say that they have NEVER welded on a elbow!

"No 2g20gs are made with a 20g Mitsu center/cover/housing with a elbow welded on."

Then later says they have?

"The 2g20gs are now made with a mitsu Turbo, that has a downfiring style Mitsu Cover, that has an Aluminum elbow welded on for the 2gs.."

I'm lost!

Maybe he MEANT to say, "

Who did you buy from on ebay. I'm pretty sure Slowboy sells turbos on there.

I bought it from an individual seller. it did not come with any documentation. thats what worries me.....

Well based on the threads I posted, it appears you either got a real old style one, that has major leak issues. OR it's not a SBR at all. Either way, you might want to email the seller telling him you know what they are supposed to look like (send him the link to the SBR homepage) and that you'd like your money back.

We now use a machined t-25 compressor cover because so many had trouble with the garret t3 covers due to leaking once the covers are removed too many times. The t-25 compressor cover is one piece and has no bolt holes that leak once the compressor cover is removed and the seal is broken.

I saw the auction before it went off just because i don't like ebay stuff being sold with my name and not being the correct items.

A guy once called me about an engine he purchased giving me a case of the red ass and it turned out the auction was not held by me, he was just using my pictures and proclaiming it was built by us.

i was getting ready to say that the elboy on that didn't look welded and it looked like a t25 housing. I thought it was a big t28 killer, but not a 20g
