Hey guys recently ive noticed that i'm hearing a cam/valve tap on my valve cover, but there is no oil leak and its up to the full mark and this morning i went to depress the timing belt and there was alot of play in it and slightly moving the intake cam gear....but after i let the car start and idle for a few seconds i shut it off and depressed it again....this time it was nice and stiff with minor play, which is the way it should be so im raising the WTF flag to this one, and also after boosting to its set PSI, if i let off the gas and on the clutch to go back to idle the car stalls. any advice would be greatfull

its suppose to have some slack because the auto tensioner isnt engaged after sitting for awhile. As for stalling, i think it doesnt have anything to do with the t-belt. Are you venting to atmosphere?

For all intents and purposes, belt drives don't stretch. There's an initial bedding when first installed, but the total stretch over the lifespan of the belt will be much less than one tooth's width.

Defiant.....
Can you explain to me why ^^^ was said..... I'm not sure if I agree with that
statement, but please correct me if I'm wrong....

This morning I found that my T-Belt had significant slack in it.....
I just did my t-belt this weekend and used a .155 diameter drill bit to set the
gap on the auto tensioner.... Worked very well.....

I pulled the 20amp fuse that allows the engine to crank, but not fire,
and I gave the motor a brief crank.... then again for about 3 seconds....
I checked the T-Belt between the cam gears, and all was perfect.....
Can you explain why this happens, or at least point me in the right direction
to locate info on this subject.....
