I just got the car the started for the first time since installing the act 2600, and fidanza flywheel. I also pulled the engine to do the balance shaft elimination. Once I got it started a noticed a pretty nasty oil leak (somewhere behind the timing belt cover) so I will most likely have to tear it all apart again which sucks. Anyway, the other, and more important issue, is the fact that I could not get it to rev past 6k. It sounds like it is. It even feels like it is revving higher but the rpm gauge will not go past 6k. It sounds like the engine is revving out meaning it will not hit the rev limiter, but it seems like it wont rev any more and the darn rpm gauge is still reading between 5 and 6k rpm. I think I actually floored once and it still did not get past 6k. I thought with the lighter flywheel I would have to be careful not to over rev not try harder to rev. Could the rpm gauge needle be off? The rpm needle was a little twitchy which it was not before. I am wondering if anyone encountered this problem after their fidanza install-- or is it just a loose connection??? Please help...I am pretty bummed out by this. Thanks in advance for any help.

check your engine ground. it is needed or you will get this type of reaction. i know from experance :shhh:

Thanks for replying. I will pull out the chiltons and go to work. I know that there is a ground from the firewall to the intake manny; one off the wiring loom going to the starter that I have on the upper bolt to the starter on the tranny side. I did paint the tranny before reinstalling so maybe I need to sand the paint down where the ground wire makes contact...?? That does not make sense though...those are the only two grounds that I remember hooking back up when I put the engine back in. Let me double check that and reply a little later. Thanks again
