well....

yesterday me and sakrafice were working on our cars, we decided we should FINALLY install my 1g bov so I could up the boost a little.

I had a flange, we go and got a pipe, welded it up, made it look clean, hooked it up, tightened alot of connections and things. Took it out for a test run and id have to say the car does feel to be running way better and faster then it was before, but the boost goes WAY higher then it should. We got on it after messing with my MBC (its crappy homemade, maybe its the problem?) and we either get 11-12ish when its off, or friggen 25 with it on....

yea you heard me....25psi. I didnt even think the stock turbo could push that much, and I know if my head doesnt have arp studs in it then I shouldnt go over 22. So how exactly does my stock, only should go to 15ish psi turbo hit 25 psi? I figured my gauge was reading wrong but it couldnt have, when it went up there you could definately feel the power and hear the turbo making a whoosh sound, or something in there, and I hit fuel cut. was going figuring it was reading wrong or to see if it leveled itself out, then BAM felt like everything shut off or something broke and for a split second I was like CRAP, but then realised that sounded exactly like fuel cut symptoms, and if i was at 25ish psi, then it sure would be.

So wtf is going on here? what should I do to try and stop it from doing this? I only want like 14-15psi since I dont have any supporting mods and dont plan on buying them since im building an engine.

double check your installation of the mbc, otherwise buy a new one. i dont think it has anything to do with too much flow for the wastegate since all you changed was the bov.
goodluck

yea I know how the mbc works, im pretty sure that was the problem. its not even a spring fashion mbc so I think i need to go make one the right way (I didnt make this one)

Still doesnt explain 25psi from a stock turbo.

Better not be blaming that controller on me .... all i did is installed it not build it :)

Oh and yes we hit 25psi .....

no the mbc is a peice of crap, i beleive im getting spike not creep, so that would explain it. I tried getting some parts to make another one but I dont think I have it all....having a hard time finding a good parts list. I got some 1/4 tube to 1/4 tube with valve insert or something.

I want to make a ball spring type (best isnt it?) but once again cant find any how-to's with what exactly to buy.

Talon still sucks though, lost pretty bad to my buddies 15.3 second GTP last night

How the F**K did you hit 25 psi on the stock turbo, and how did the 1g BOV hold it? You sure that u have the gauge hooked up right?

25psi? - Trying to figure that out myself man. Maybe the turbo isnt stock, with the dude I bought it from I never know what he threw back on there before he sold it to me.

Bov holding it? - Not sure, it was crushed really good by my friend, thats who I got it from, so I can probably hold somewhere in that range. up there that wooshing noise was probably it leaking or something.

Gauged hooked up right - yup
