i have a 95 eagle talon tsi awd stock bought it from a guy and it needed a new clutch. I got him to put a act 2600 in.told me everything should be good to go but she revs high. drove it rode fine but the reving was just real high.from 1800 to 2900 and the gears would grind every now and then, thought it was my driving but when we got out of new york into penn, the car was reving high and the gears were griding a good bunch. I would push the cluch as hard as i could and jam the thing as hard as i could but she still wouldnt go into gear.but she would eventually afer trying to jam it and ease it in. when i got it home i was ready to get it checked out.but the first week i had it she sarted slipping.so now i got to get it checked.Talked to them and got a new clutch put in and a new flywheel to.whatever clutch i got put in is supposed to be 30% better than stock.I kept the act because she wasnt really bad but she was blue from getting real hot and was glazed over on the back of the pressure plate where the disc meet the pressure plate.took the clutch to a dsm meeting and they said that they would sand the glaze off and put it back in because she was still good. i would of if i new that then but the new clutch is in and now she is slipping too in about 2 weeks after but she wont slip until the car has been running or at running temp.and i dont know if this has any thing to do with anything but at the same time my throtle sticks the clutch slips and whenever the turbo kick in she starts slipping. what is the problem and how can i fix it?does it need adjusting or somthing? and should i put the 2600 back in?whenever the car gets warmedor running temp thats when the throtle sticks and i know the clutch is going to start slipping?please help

alright this is a guy I know and lemme see if i can explain more whats going on. he bought the car with a new ACT2600 in it. drove it for about 3 weeks and it started slipping under boost in every gear. I was like there is no way thats possible with a stock car. so he took it to the transmission place and they took that one and and put a 30% better-than-stock one in there and now 2 weeks later its doing the same thing. but here is the weird part. when the car is cool it doesnt do it. i got in it after it sat for a few hours and we did a couple of launches and pulled to about 80...we did this 3 times. car was great no slipping and was pulling great for stock. took me back home and then left and I told him to hit it again when leaving. he did and then came back and said now the clutch is slipping. I thought it might be something to do with the adjustments. hes going to take it back to the tranny place because he has a 1 year warranty and tell them to adjust the clutch and if need be to drop the tranny to put the ACT back in and check out the TOB and forks which they should have checked before. if anyone has any other info on what could be the problem or how he could go about adjusting the clutch himself please let us know. thanks for the space and hope i cleared up a few things :thumb:

and also i dont know if this has anything to do with it but once the car gets warmed up the throttle begins to stick at around 2K and he has to pop the hood and push the plate back down...how to fix this also if anyone knows...thanks

has anybody thought to check and see if the flywheel step is correctly machine. i'd bet somebody messed that up and the clutch can't fully engage the flywheel. if that's alright then something needs adjusted, be it the pedal assembly or clutch fork pivot point.

I'm not too sure about the clutch part, but my 95gst was having an idol was high and if I pushed the TB closed it fixed it. I ended up fixing it by readjustint the throttle cable. I think it was adjusted in spec b/c mitsu did it, but i just loostened it up a whole lot and it has not done it since.
Good luck, JB

doubt its crankwalk...that isnt a sign...and as for the TB ill tell him to try adjusting the throttle cable...but see its also REAL hard to push in...his throttle peddel is like his clutch what is causing this?

There is a rod that attaches to the clutch pedal under the dash, with a 12mm nut on it i beleive. Loosen the nut and turn the rod itself counter-clockwise quite a bit. When i had a new clutch installed, it was fine for 3 days then started slipping all the time, no matter what. Turns out the pushrod just had to be adjusted. The clutch was grabbing really high, and once it heated up it wouldnt' grab at all, the pressure plate wouldn't fully release. Try this, hopefully it helps!!

Glad i could help  That should solve it for you, i hope. I am guessing the clutch grabs really high right now? If so than this should fix it. Its just the pressure plate not releasing fully. hopefully the clutch wont be glazed over from running it like that for too long. i like having the clutch grab really low, mine grabs about 2-3 inches off the floor, this way i know its fully engaged/disengaged.......Good luck!

if the pedal adjustment doesn't fix it, don't count out the transfer case. I've seen this happen on 2 vehicles now. Our xfer cases have a recall on them because of a leak. If it leaks and gets low on fluid its going to cause damage. Well with the 2 guys I knew, they had the same problem as you. Bought cars with slipping stock clutches, threw in an ACT 2600, and the thing worked for maybe a day and then started slipping. We too thought "flywheel step" right off the bat. But in the end, it was a bad xfer case. The xfer cases were on there last legs. They were on the verge of totally locking up. So they hadn't reached the "lock up" point yet, but were extremely hard to turn. I guess a good analagy would be like if you were trying to unscrew a screw, but it was really in there tight and hard to turn. No matter how hard you gripped that screwdriver when you were trying to unscrew it, your hands still slipped around the outside of the screwdriver handle. Well the clutch was gripping it hard, but the thing was so hard to turn, that the clutch just slipped. In my one friend Nick's laser, we ended up getting a whole new tranny and xfer case. Once installed, no more slipping issues. We even reused the same flywheel and clutch that were on there before.
