okay i just got my 97 eclipse gsx and so far ive got a new timing belt some valves replaced and soon to get a fuel pump but i noticed when i start my car is revs like all cars do to like 2000 rpm but then it'll go down like normal......then it will keep reving to 2000rpm then slowly go down the rev back up ???? ????

Twizzle is correct..... sounds like the ISC is shot to hell.
I will not pay more than $150 for a new one from satan (mitsubishi dealer).

preciate it......but i dont know hardely anything bout engine parts but ill figure it out :thumb:

I have this same problem... my car had a massive overheat and I had to have the Head shaved and replace the studs and Gasket. I replaced with a Cometic Gasket, ARP Studs and at the same time I removed my Cruise Control.

What should I be checking? Someone mentioned that maybe I didn't connect one of the VAC lines correctly?
