I was working on my car this past wkend installing a stereo and now im having engine trouble.... the only thing i messed with was the battery to hook up the amp... anyways now when i accelerate i get a whistling sound... not sure if its a leak or not though, and when i started my car once i reconnected the battery the engine jumps up to like 3k, i think it would only go to like 1.5-2k then idle at 900-1k i was wanting to install a turbo but not if the engine is about to blow.... the car only has 52k miles what gives !!!

Where does the whistle sound like its coming from? Sounds silly,but hey ya never know. Does the whistle sound like its coming thru your speakers?

whenever you disconnect your battery for longer than 15 minutes the ecu resets itself. when you start it your ecu has to relearn its fuel maps, thus its weird idle. the whistle is more than likely a bad ground. i had a whistle too when i first put in my deck with the stock speakers, sounded like i had a jet engine under the hood cause the whistle got louder with rpm's. when i installed aftermarket infinity perfect components the whistle dissapeared. btw the whistle WAS coming through the speakers.
