Motor is in...Ready to start....No oil to the head???

I have a fully built forged 6-bolt that i put in a couple days ago...Everything is ready to rock except for one small but large problem. It appears that oil is not flowing to the head due to the fact that oil isnt coming from the feed hole for the turbo feed when the bolt is removed...I cranked on it and had a friend watched but nothing...Then i strted it and it fired up for a second or two but died because of my injectors and cams ect....And there still wasnt any oil in it even with the car started for 2 seconds.....Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Also, i have a brand new oil filter housing and front case/pump....Thanks
 
-Did you pressurize the motor by spinning the oil pump with a eletric drill or something? you must do that!!!
 
No, but ive never even heard of that....The motor turns over twice and started....i think that is enough pressure itself! Ill keep trying to crank on it and build pressure...any other help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
-I always spin the oil pump until I see oil gushing out from the oil passages at the head, you crank the motor like that without any oil at the bearings sure will creat some wear at the bearings and the journals.
 
ya....i dont have any way of spinnign the pump right now unless i take everything BACK off and that doesnt sound so great right now....Any other ideas..

-It sucks but that's the only way I know.
 
Theres gotta be more ways than one...Theres oil in the pan and when i crank on it, oil SHOULD be spreading over the crank/rods ect.....it probably just cant get the extra "oomph" to the head....Thats the most logical answer i could give myself. tomorrow i will try and crank it more and maybe start it after i pour more oil over the cams and the inside of the head just to be on the safe side....Its a brand new oil pump so this shouldnt be happening...Im sure ill work it out though...hopefully
 
unplug the cam angle sensor, and crank the motor for 10-15 sec intervals. Do this several times. This allows the oil pump to prime the motor and turbo ext. after the motor is primed plug in the cam angle sensor and start it up.

I am also getting ready to fire my motor for the first time after a costly build so i know how you feel. GOOD LUCK!

interesting...so unplug the sensor to the CAS as well as the injectors clips and spark plug wires?...I will do so and let you know what happens...You must feel the same way about this then....I have too much money into my motor so im very cautious about everything......I cant wait to drive it...That is if i can get it to idle with the 780cc injectors, comp full severe race cams running a 14b for break in! ill work it out with my dsmlink though.. :thumb:
 
Just unplug the MPI fuse next to the battery, like you would for doing a compression test. Crank the car over a good minute, but do NOT push down on the clutch while doing so. Unhook the clutch safety switch before you do this (this allows you to start the car without having to push the clutch in).
 
clutch mod was done when i had the old 7-bolt, but that one walked so heres the 6-bolt.....ill try and crank it today and see what happens...
 
The best way to pre-lube the engine is by using a pressurized tank hooked up to a port before filtration. A good one is where the “stupid light” sensor goes.
Spinning the pump is another way but I think it takes too much time to put everything back on after doing that and before startup.
If you choose to crank the engine at least take the spark plugs out (that way you won’t put too much load on the engine) and hope you have a high quality engine lube in there.
