Well my dailydriver (92 AWD) started acting really weird today, heres the story, i'll try to keep it as brief as possible. Thanks in advance I really need the help since this is my daily driver.

Car threw a CEL (code 44) and started running horribly, felt like and sounded like it was running on two cylinders rpms on the tach dropped roughly in half and were around half of what they should be for every gear/speed, but my datalogger read normal rpms. Turned the car off lett it sit for a while, turned it back on and it ran fine for about 30 mins then it through the code again and had the exact same symptoms.

I read in another post after searching that the CEL shouldnt be thrown for the code 44, i was wondering if there could possibly be another problem with my ecu etc? i recently blew the large ign fuse in the battery mounted fuse box while cranking my car over following a walbro install... i blaimed it on cranking the car to much without the car starting but maybe i was wrong? (car didnt start because of a bad electrical connection)

I'm going to look into the coil pack and transistor tomorow, but was hoping for some other ideas or preferably someone that has had the exact same problem to give me some pointers in case it isnt the tranistor etc. i also read that the transistor is hard to get to because the top timing belt cover is in the way... is this the case and is there anyways to get around this problem...

Thanks a bunch in advance

Hi I was just searching around for some kind of info and found this. I have been having the same exact problem as you, and yet the shop I took my car to is still trying to narrow it down to the ECU being bad, and I have already replaced the ECU and it had the same problem. I have a feeling it might be the coilpack or the PT. Was the PT the actual problem and did replacing it fix everything?? Any help on this would be great!!
