Is the water pump removable without pulling the crank sprocket? The water pump is sitting between the case and the frame/inner fender? and I can't seem to wiggle it out. I don't really have the time or tools(or means to make the crank tool), so is there anyother way?
Thanks, Isaiah

From what I've read it sounds like the shavings are from the con rods. Like many DSMers I've already sunk way too much money into the car. I just spent $400+ for all the T-belt/BS elimination parts and then I find rod shavings in my oil pan...so not cool. So I put the DP, X-case, and oil pan back on. Now all I want to do is get it back together and hopefully sell it for enough for a down payment on a reliable, simple automobile like a Honda...but I'm kind of leaning toward a Miata
. Basically everything is off, T-belt, tensioners, etc. I unbolted the water pump and I can't seem to get it to wiggle down from between the timing case and the frame. So that's where I'm stuck. And the car is in a friends garage and he is moving :thumbdown Yeah..I have until the 25th to finish and Im stuck on the damn water pump.
