I have a AGP turbo with internal wastegate,FMIC,walboro pump and stock injectors, 2Gmaf. The car makes almost no power but boosts fine, IT DID THIS SAME THING WITH THE 14B and stock sidemount, Which is why i thought it was the turbo
I changed the knock sensor and i see no difference. I checked base timing and i am around 10degrees. All sprokets and timing marks are lined up, no balance shafts, I am running 1 step colder plugs bpr7es-11 (I think). I have no missfire or anything. The werid thing is that today i boosted the car and i had the boost controller set at 20psi and it spiked to 25 and my gauge for the A/F still was in the green. I know enough not to relie on that gauge to much but it should still go into the red at that pressure. This turbo is suppose to flow more then a 14b i dont understand. I have no problem boosting its just not going anywhere. I am familiar with cars but i dont understand why this thing is not moving quick. I checked compression and i have 150-155-150-150. I have a slight Knock or tap coming from the engine only at certain times after the car is warmed up. I changed lifters with 3g ones and nothing changed with the tap. The whole lower end i went through again to check everything and its good. I dont feel that its a engine problem i feel that its electrical. COULD A BAD ECU CAUSE MY CAR TO RUN PERFECT BUT JUST NOT PRODUCE ANY POWER. I have a 2G MAF also and my afc is set to +5 on everything because someone said that a 2G mas dials the car back 5-10% therefore i should add 5% because i have 450cc injectors, which is why i dont get how i can boost 25psi and still be rich. What do you suggest i do. Could a bad 02 sensor be the problem or will that not affect it that much, cause my gauge seems fine. A friend said a bad intake manifold gasket could be the problem cause he had a car that sounded like knock at the intake manifold just like mine and it was the intake gasket. Should i try a ECU of is it not worth the time.
Thanks
Tom

bsd o2 sensor made my car run like ass.. i got an extra o2 sensor if u wanna try it, we datalogged with it to make sure it was good and the trims were good..like .9 .88 or somthin around there. ill hook u up with it for 25 bucks if u want it.

You need bigger injectors and tune your car. You have 20psi w/ stock injectors, and SAFC is not tuned. The car is probably knocking, and pulling timing. If this is happening, the car should feel pretty flat. Pull the plugs out, and put it under a bright light, and if you have a magnifying glass, put the plug underneath and take a look. If you see silver specs on the porcelain or on the electrode part, you are pinging. If you were boosting similar amount w/ 14B, it could be the same reason why it feels flat.

I have a spare 02 sensor i am going to try. It only started doing this with the 14b recently so i know its not the injectors being to small. I know i need bigger injectors and there on there way but the point is something is wrong its not just that the injectors are too small. I hope that the 02 sensor fixes the problem but it is like the only thing left.

The reason why i would guess its not O2 from what you have posted is that ecu doesn't use o2 feedbacks during WOT runs. It relies on maps that are already programmed.

A new O2 will make driving around town feel better though. Should feel little more responsive along w/ better gas mileage.

i swapped ecu's and it did nothing. Car seems so slow for such a good turbo. Its acting just like it did with the 14b. If its not the 02 then whats left. Someone tell me how i can run 25psi with 450cc injectors and a 255pump,2Gmaf and S-afc and not go lean. It should be impossible.

I had a similar problem after i had my car all apart. It turned out I was boosting fine and all but I just wasnt feeling any pull....I started to mess with my base timing and finally got a sweet spot, which is @ 5 degrees above top dead center (go figure---its factory spec)...since your base timing is at 10 degrees thats something I would check out, and use a timing light for this.

i did check for boost leaks and i found nothing. Plus the car boosts okay it just dont move. I will try to set the base timing back but i would think it would make less power cause i am retarding it another 5degrees.
Tom

But if you are knocking, it pulls timing which sounds like your case. Set the timing to base 5deg. w/ the timing wire grounded. ECU then advances to approx. 8deg.

Easiest way, pull the plugs and check. Lower the boost or get additional fuel.

its a 50 trim with stage 3 .63ar wheel, turbonetics

You're running this on stock injectors??? You're wondering why you're having problems?

Do you even have an AFPR? That may be why you're running rich.

i am running low boost. I do not have a AFPR right now. I was planning on getting injectors but first i need to find out why my car is slow. It is not because i dont have injectors, there is def. a problem cause it did the same with the 14b. I also noticed that looking at my s-afc2 knock monitor it is reading almost 500-600 at accel. and only 50-70 at idle. I dont know what the numbers mean but my friends car has a S-afc2 on his 1G also and his never goes above 150, but idle is the same. plus today i noticed that the car is taking longer for it to boost. Almost 5k in 1st and 3500 in second to start to boost.

You need to get a hold of some logging equipment. Post them up here so we can take a look.

IF i had a wrist pin knock would that be the problem, my car sometimes has a slight knock/TAP. at idle and it increases with rpm but i cannot hear it past 2k, but my S-afc2 has a high knock reading. Many people have told me it sounds like valvetrain and a lifter, i JUST replaced my lifters with the 3G ones with HUGE oil ports and it made no difference. Listening with the STETHOSCOPE my INJECTORS ACTUALLY Sound like the noise i am hearing and it is EXREMELY LOUD through the intake manifold. CAN INJECTORS MAKE A CAR SOUND LIKE ITS KNOCKING.
