Here's the strange problem, sometimes when I accelerate really fast from a stop in my 1992 AWD, as the RPM's get up, I can feel a bad vibration right under me in my seat and not from the front of the car. If I let off the gas, it will stop vibrating and then I can speed up with no problems. I'm thinking driveshaft but when I got under there today, everything seemed okay. I couldn't see any broken driveshaft mounts or anything. What should I look for? Could it be the front CV axles making the car shake? It has also happened in 2nd gear when I downshifted at 40mph. It almost seems like it will vibrate whenever the AWD is going to keep me from spinning. Any ideas at all?

Your exhaust can be hitting the underneath of your car. Check for bad exhaust hangers, they can also get twisted up after hard hits and hold the exhaust in a bad spot until the throttle is let off allowing it to move back to its original spot.

I had that same problem and a buddy of mine told me it was my carrier bearing. He used window weld to fix it.

Does your shifter knob happen to move at all when you step/let off the gas?
