Hi guys. I got this '91 fwd tsi off a guy for fixing his bike and it was fine driving home. I drove it around for a few weeks and then it overheated really bad and now it blows white smoke, has a good bit of oil dripping from the bottom of the engine and the oil pressure is really low. It sputters and gargles a little when you start it then revs and seems perfectly normal other than the smoke and oil leak. I don't know a damn thing about cars. I fix, build, and customize bikes so I'm not a novice wrench turner I just never bothered with cars, only bike engines. I would tear into it blindly to figure out what's wrong but I'd get lost in this stuff. Bike engines are nothing like this so I thought it would be a good idea to ask around first to see if anyone else had any ideas. It seems like the classic signs of a blown head gasket, warped head, and blown oil line or fixture. What do you guys think? Thanks for whatever info you can give me.

sounds like a possible blown headgasket, but as you know with these kind of things its really all speculation until you open it up and look. but thats my guess

headgasket

Thanks for the opinions guys. I'm going to pull it in the garage and yank it apart and have myself a little learning experience.

be carefull when you put it back together. If you warped the head at all you can't just deck it off because the bearings for the cams will bind after that. Best bet is new head though you can have it straightned or honed.

4G63 heads are only like 200-400 used/rebuilt with stock parts.
