engine misfires when CEL is ON

Hey peepz. Please help me with my problem...

I bought a code scanner cuz my engine light is always on. The scanner returns multiple/random cylinder misfire code. When i reset the code, the engine runs just fine. Then after a while of driving, the CEL is back on again, and the car misfires at 3k RPM and when going up hill. I replaced the wires, Denso Irdium plugs but didnt fix it. You guys have any suggestions? thanks in advance

i wanted to know where you got the scanner? and you should try some NGK plugs because those seem to work the best with dsm's. Goodluck

I am having a very similar problem. I have all new plugs, wires, injectors have like 9k on them ... timing is perfect. I don't know what else could cause these misfires?!

I had the same thing happen to me after I put my car together, took about 200 miles and It started running like crap. I checked teh codes and I had cylinder misfire. I cleared it and it was gone. I now have set the ECU to not chekc for misfires with dsmlink. For me Im sure its just the 6 bolt in a 2g thats doing it. Are you a 1gina2g?

I got the scanner from Autozone, its called Actron OBD II scanner. What NGK plug should I get? Can you give me the specific model?

And how do you set the ECU not to check the misfire code? Thanks

i think you should try the bp7res plugs from ngk, but im not sure what heat range you should run, dont know what mods you have, but that would be a start. how much did the scanner run you?
