Car wont start plz help.

okay i have a 92 non-turbo model car that wont start. when you turn the ket it does nothing. no crank. no nothing. Have you ever forgot to depress the clutch and tried to start it and nothing happens. THATS WHAT ITS LIKE. i get headligts and stereo but no start. it happened first about two weeks ago so i push started it and drove to work. after work it started fine and started fine for two weeks until today. it starts perfect when push started but nothing when started with the ignition. PLEASE HELP ME. im buying a 99 gst soon and its hard to sell a car that doesn't start

Sounds like an electrical problem with the starter, maybe a bad ground. Read this, it should help:

thanks ill check it now. ill probably be back with more questions . im hoping it works cause push starting it doesn't look every cool infront of the ladies

*sigh* im thinking of just taking it to a shop and having them fix it. the starter is now making a whining noise when you attempt to start it so im just gonna push start it till monday.

Whining noise is better than no noise. Did it just start doing that after you let it sit for a while then tried it? Also, is there any clicking accompanying the whining?

the whinning noise was always there i just didn't realize it. and nope no clicking. just a whinning kinda a hissing noise. sounds like when you open a bottle of soda after shaking it that PFFFFT sound.
