Hey Everybody,

my hks type one turbo timer for some reason will not reconnize mph or rpm. I splice the wires coming from the turbo timer to the ecu, just the instructions say on one of the how to articles on this site. The manual mode works great on the timer, however the auto mode and all of the other features such as mph and rpm will not work. I heard that the rpms might jump a lil because of the type one being on a 5volt setup, but still th emph should work right? Also since the auto mode is ran off rpm is there any other way i can use the auto mode? Thanks alot everybody

Installed the same turbo timer and it will count down when turned off to the acc position but when I turn the car all the way off everything shuts off and car wont stay running! I havent hooked up the rpm or speed wires yet! Can anyone help me Please?

Did you hook up the gray wire with the red strip on it? That's the parking brake wire and it has to be spliced into the handbrake wire for the turbo timer to work. When hooked up if somebody tried to drive off with you car when they put the hand brake down the car shuts off

yes i hooked up the ebrake wire.....it wont even count down if you dont do that.....i just dont get why the tt turns off when i turn the key all the way off

one more question to add to this list... i hear that the Blue LEDs are very bright. if I install a toggle switch inline with the ground, so i can turn off the TT when driving (when it's not needed) will that screw anything up as far as my settings? when i flip the toggle back ON just before taking the key out, will i have to reset the timer for it to function properly? or will my settings still be there?

thanks in advance
~Kurt

you can just turn it off while driving, then when you come to a stop turn it back on.you don't need a toggle switch you can just use the one and off button on the unit. The LEDs are not super bright in my opition i have mine mounted on my steering colum and it does not brother me i will take a picture and post it for you

also, does anyone know where the PDF instructions are for the Silver unit (metric, i assume according to HKS webpage) i looked all over the HKSUSA page, and followed all the links and i must just be missing it somewhere simple. it says to click on the PDF logo on the product page, but i can't seem to find it on either of the Type1 TT's. anyone know where else it is? not necessarily the install (found that on here) but the instructions for the unit itself. (or if someone has a scanner & can scan the pages, depending on how many there are, i can host it on my webspace for a bit...)

thanks again
~Kurt
