loud ass ticking after boosting 11 psi.

let me start by saying that i ran 14 psi on my almost stock laser and blew my headgasket. n e way i got a new h.g. and put it on but this time i only turned up the boost to 10-11psi. after i made a pull in third gear it hit 11psi a it started making a loud ticking sound that seems to be coming between the intake manifold and the head. im not sure if it is the lifters but it makes that ticking sound all the time now and it gets worse when its under load. help me out here.

sounds like your lifters or rockers?

not saying this is your problem...but mine had that same sounds, worse under load...turned out to be rod knock and NO DONT SAY IT, CRANKWALK! Take her apart and have a look, good luck.

he has a 91, i think all that year were 6bolt so no crankwalk there.

yeah. im a dumbass. when i put my car back together, i fogot to tighten down the bolts to the egr vavle. well, i tighten them down and no ticking. i did in fact run into another problem. i also forgot to get a balance shaft belt when i did my timing belt. can you guess what happen? yep, my balance shaft belt broke but amzingly enough it did not take out my timing belt. what are the odds of that. i got that replaced and now i think my crank seal is leaking. im getting oil all over my exhaust manifold and in my valve cover. i think it is leaking cause when i replaced the balance belt, i could see oil right under the seal. i am going to get that changed to see if that solves my prob. and no its not crankwalk. thanx for all the ideas though.
