MY alarm needs a 12v signal when the car is startedc but i dont know where one is it says oemthing about a oil lamp inside the dashboard but i dont know where it is does anyone know? also is there a 12v on the fuel pump when it is started?

there are two different 12V lines that go to your stereo.. one is constant, one is ignition... if you unplug the harness, you can find the two 12v lines with the car running, then see which one shuts off when you turn off the car...

At the ignition harness, the black/white wire is on when the key is in the ON position (regardless of weather the engine is running). At the stereo, the switched 12V is the blue wire. Make sure to test all this tho, your car may have been hacked up or something and you could fry something. I dunno if this helps, but here is all the wire info you (should) need for installing it. BTW this list is for 1995/1996 Eclipses, talons are most likely the same:

Constant 12V+ White Ignition Switch Harness
Starter Black/Red Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition Black/White Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 2 Blue Ignition Switch Harness
Accessory Blue/Black Ignition Switch Harness
Tach Black/Blue Or Blue/Black Coil Pack (2 Cylinder Setting)
Neutral Safety Wire Black/White (-) PCM behind Center Console
Brake Switch Green Brake Switch
Trunk Pin Red/Green Silver Driver's Kick Panel
Parking Lights Green/White (+) Driver's Kick Panel or Fuse Panel
Head Lamp Red (-) Light Switch
Factory Disarm Green/White (-) Driver's Kick Panel (Some say Driver's Door Harness)
Door Trigger Red/Green (-) Courtesy Light or Driver's Kick Panel
Door Lock Brown/White (-) Behind Fuse Panel or 20 Pin Connector High Driver's Kick Panel
Door Unlock Brown (-)
Driver's Lock Blue/Black Driver's Kick Panel
Driver's Unlock Blue/Red Driver's Kick Panel
Passenger Unlock Blue/Red Passenger's Kick Panel
Horn Wire Green/Red (-) Steering Column
Windows Up LF=Green/Red, RF=Brown/Yellow
Windows Down LF=Green/Black, RF=Green/Yellow

i know about the ignition switches but i need the 12v only when the engine is running. not just when its on the ON position. i think that my alarm is messed up anyways because i sat inside my car with the alarm on and started it then manually plugged the wire into a 12v when the car started and it still didnt work. damn alarms.
