1G none turbo tranny question

I recently bought a 92 talon none turbo 2.0L DOHC 5 speed..... and of course the guys said it was the clutch so they put that into the cost of the car. I just took it to the local dodge dealership and they have told me it is the tranny. They also told me 4500 plus labour to do it, what are my options here? tried scrap yards they still want 1000 for a tranny with 3 month warantee, I've also been told I could rebuild the transmission. Any feedback on what to do would be great, also if anyone has an extra lyin around they wanna sell for cheap that'd be great too .

post wtb ad here, someone has a tranny for sale for sure. Do not buy one for $4k, even if it's Canadian dollaras, it's a rip-off. Check dsmtrader.com also.

You can definetly get one for less. I have an extra i think, non turbo right? I'd have to check, but send me an e-mail. and I can atleast point you in a direction where you can get one.

Shit for $4K even in canadian dollars you could prolly get a running 1G turbo DSM, dont go to the dealer for big shit like that, they will rape you. What exactly is wrong with the car, maybe its not the tranny? Good luck!

When you go into 1st and 2nd it makes a grinding/whirling sound thats incredibly annoying.......figured I'd post here and make sure thats what it was first. But yeah if any of you got extras that'd be great because we're not havin too much luck with scrap yards either.

My trans makes grinding noises to, try synthetic trans oil such as Pennzoil Syncromesh along with a Magnetic Drain plug to catch the metal particles. If its drivable drive it, I drive mine, I jus wait till the day its done.
