I just did my first headgasket job on my 91 GST... I did everything the book told me to do (Im pretty sure) I put my timing belt back on and lined everything up. I put my crank pulley back on... and my intake gear is off it appears 3-4 notches. Both of them have moved a little... The pins on the gears are nearish 12:00...but not quite... I thougt, well, I have been moving the crank and all. I try to turn it over 6 times the way the book says to do... I dont bother to put the car back up on the stand... I just reach in with my fatty wrench...and try to move it... I cant even get 1/4 turn out of it? WTF did I do something wrong? Is my timing off or something? Why cant I move them? You are supposed to turn it clock wise right? I worked a week straight on this thing... I cant have something else wrong.. Im so tired of working on that thing... SOS

Is the transmission in gear? OMG If it's in any gear, you will not be able to hand turn the motor.

Are you putting a 1/2" drive rachet in the crank and turning it clockwise?

don't try to turn it if your marks aren't lined up. Keep readjusting the belt until you get the marks correct on the cam gears, then, and only then turn it over. You will hit the valves and then you can pull the head completely off again and spend more money...hell yeah!!!!

gotta love the engineers at mitsu for that one! Damn valves and pistons!
