***NEED HELP FAST*** poor gas millege

i am getting horrible gas millege in my 98 GSX.. just filled up got 16 MPG, only can go like 165 miles on tank, and i only got a intake and and BOV what should i do???
and i have been driving it very easy(its auto)

Check park plugs, replace fuel filter and make sure your egr valve is hooked up correctly. Dont know if that last one matters but mine had some holes in the vacuum tubes and I swear i got 50 miles more a tank after I replaced the tubes. Are you leaking gas?

Also check your O2 sensors, you should be getting much better milage than that. I'm getting about 260 a tank with my mods.

i did fuel filter about 1 month ago,i just ordered spark wires/plugs,what if i just block the EGR??
how do I know if i am leaking gas??
