k guys well i am a bit pissed since i just got the car... i bought a 95 gsx with 80k miles and well i relized when you run her hard shell poof smoke out the rear of the exhaust obviously burning oil since it varys from dark smoke to light. well im really hoping its not the rings but im to the point thinkin it might be. i had my oil changed 1k miles ago and my oil no longer reads on the dipstick (thats how low it is) also if my turbo is about to go will it burn oil like that? that bad? i just dont know. my dad wants to put 10-40 oil in my car cuz he wants to run a lil heavier oil. will this hurt the car? also i am having fluxuations of oil pressure. idk why. i dont believe its a leak since i havent seen ne oil newhere. any help could help out here! give me all the info you have!! thanks guys!

Im pretty sure you burn oil if you havent changed it in awhile and its old or your rings are bad and the oil slips past it and burns in the combustion chamber (which causes colored smoke). usually when the turbo is dieng, humongous clouds of white smoke will emerge from the exhaust. (i have seen this once and heard about it on 2 other cars).

well today i stopped and talked to a local mechanic. today we had the car running turned it off and you could hear the turbo wind down... bearings are going out you can hear them grind. he explainedto me on how since my plugs electrodes are nice n lean not covered in oil that more than likely its just the turbo. he said hes seen it many times and he explained to me on exactly why the turbo is burning the oil at this point... i burned 3 quarts in like 1400 miles and he said that sounded like the turbo.

Yea it sounds like the turbo seals are shot...good excuse to upgrade to a 14B or 16G! :thumb: Until you replace the turbo tho, check your oil daily, you don't wanna have to replace the motor also from running without oil!
