While ago my door was caught by the wind and opened just a bit TOO much.

So now my door catch (the middle bar between the two hinges) now seems to interfere with the window slide.

I'm in need of a bit of help, and I'd greatly appreciate the assistance:

- Can anyone post a pic of the door catch assembly? (I think mine might have been bent.)

- The assembly has an "R" on one side and an "L" on the other. Passenger side door is working and it has an "R" facing up. Drivers side is pooched and if I change it to "L" facing up, the assembly will hit the window slide completely and prevent the door from closing! Is the drivers side supposed to have L or R facing up?

Thanks again, this issue has been driving me nuts since this afternoon!

Aw damn.

I've got the door catch assembly removed, and it LOOKS more or less okay.
The door trim is off and everything looks in order. (Mind you, there's still the "interior" side of the door body, which appears spot-welded together?)

The only reason I suspect the assembly is because when I move the door I can feel the arm conflict with the window slide.

I know the previous owner messed with the door somehow, what are the chances this might be an assembly from a 1g?

(I know I'm reaching, just trying to get all possibilities on the table.)

Thanks Defiant!

Gah, what a pisser.

I'm afraid you're going to have to open up the door trim and see what's bent, where.

Turns out that the "Door Check" (part MR137843, check it out on caps) is broken and likely bent a bit. Thats whats rubbing the window.

Now I just have to figure out why I have so much gap between my outer weatherstripping and the window glass near the rear of the door.
