Car: 1991 Plymouth Laser RS FWD Turbo

Problem: Car will start most of the time and run fine, however, if i turn it off and try to start it again within an hour or less, it will start but it will shake really bad. Something under the hood is making the engine shake violently and then it will cut off after about 10 seconds. I usually have to wait a little while before it will start again, at least a few minutes. I checked the spark plugs and they're fine, perhaps they need replacing? It's pissing the hell out of me and I'm confused. It smells of gas after i try starting it a few times, so i'm sure the fuel pump is ok, i'm thinking something to do with the ecu or just new plugs?

a little more info:

once the car is running smoothly, it will not cut off so i'm stumped. I don't know what it could be.
