head question

i am going to be replacing the valves in my head and i need to know if i can take the head off without the motor being at top dead center (tdc)?

You could.
But Why not put it at TDC first?

the reason i am going to do it without the motor at tdc is because i have 6 bent exhaust valves and i tried to turn the crank by hand and i could not get it to go that far, to tdc, cause of the bent valves.
