burning oil?....

My car blows white smoke when I shift gears, and especially at idle and i go to take off it blows a puff of whitish blue smoke. I know that the oil pan seal is bad and plan on changing that. Also I have been getting gas in my oil, but I have a fault on the logger for the coolant temp. sensor, so I plan on changing that. What could be causing the smoke and the oil burning up?

Pan seal has nothing to do with burning oil other than drips onto the exhaust, which is too dissipated by the undercar air to be seen. You probably need new valve guide seals.

agreed....if it's one thing that the 4g63 is known for it's junk valve guide seals...never seen one that did'nt smoke a little after a few years...

If these seals are bad, could that also cause gas getting into the oil? I had a fault on my logger for the coolant temp. sensor and i was told that could cause that so I changed it but I also have this smoke problem and i know its burning oil so I was wondering if the seals could also be causing gas getting into the oil?

nope....valve seals won't cause gas in the oil, why do you think you have gas in the oil?...a leaking injector can cause this though, also an extremely over rich fuel mixture to the point where the cylinder is not even firing properly may cause it.

I have gas in the oil cause I smelled the oil cap and dipstick. How do you check for a bad injector?
