First problem

About once every twenty shifts or so, though it can happen at any time, when I let off the gas the car lurches. It feels like the tranny locked up for a millesecond. And sometimes when I'm at wot the car will stop accelerating for a second then get this incredible power boost for the following second. This started just a few days ago and gets worse the more I drive it.

Second problem

When I'm idleing the battery and brake light come on and dim as the rpm's rise and as the rpm's drop back to idle the lights slowly come back on. I just bought a new battery but it didn't help at all. What the hell is it?

Check your alternator.

Did you new battery work really well the first few hours you got it and after that the idle problem arose? If so, your alternator could be dead. Buying the new battery gave the car the juice to run everything, but if the alternator is dead it wouldn't be able to charge up the battery and the battery will just eventually die. Dash lights coming on for no reason and strange idles can sometimes be a cause of this...

Grab a multimeter, check battery voltage with car running. Should be around 13.5V
