I started my 91 GS-t this morning to let her warm up for a while and went back in the house for a minute, come back out a minute later to see oil ooozzing from the car onto my driveway, I run and shut it down immediately and take a closer look to see oil leaking from behind the crank pulley area , it looks like its coming out of the lower timing belt cover to be more accurate. Anyway is it safe to assume that its the front main seal or is other possible seals to blame.

I'm glad I only lost about a half of court of oil before I noticed the leak or this whole thing could have been more drastic.

Whats also funny is the car showed no sign of this happening (small leaks)...it just happened.

i think theres the front main seal then there the oil pump there and the the balance shaft there to it could be any on of those but definitly get it checked out a half a court of oil is a good amount to be pouring out of the motor.

by any chance did u just have a t belt job done????????? i had this same exact thing happen to me right after a t belt job. turns out the idiots that did it took off my valve cover to do it. it was leaking from the valve cover on the t belt side, they cracked it. take a look for small hairline cracks on your valve cover, t belt side. other than that its probably the crank seal or oil pump. :dsm:

i have a 1.8 in my car and it locked up got another motor with 103k miles on it and installed to find motor leaked oil like hell out of timing cover took it back apart and couldnt find oil leaking from anywhere in there finally found the oil leak .....from the HEAD! head gasket was leaking oil from oil passage in front timing belt side of head oil was draining down over the water pump and into the timing belt cover i took motor back and got my money back. i know are motors arent the same but just to let ya know look everywhere LOL cuz with an oil leaks its not always so obvious hope its nothing major good luck
