Just got my punishment racing fmic setup in yesterday....did the intial install. still have a little bit of trimming/adjusting to do, any suggestions? (i think i am going to trim the top part of the bumper also)

Yesterday me and my buddy went and trimmed up the front bumper, and adjusted a few clamps and what not and here is the final result.....looks much better imo.

thanks for all the previous advice and any other thoughts are appreciated :D

looks good man! def trim the top part of your bumper!! it would look even better! and maybe even put your license plate on the side for more efficiency, you dont have fog lights anyways so.... also i would straighten out the bottom part of your bumber so there is no gap between the bumper and the intercooler. but its great man...always nice to have a big front mount.

Looks good, i like alot.

Trim the top of the bumper, straighten out the bottom of the bumper, move the license plate, and clean up your passenger side headlight.

then it would be even better.

Looks good but smaller than I thought. I thought the core would have filled up the whole bumper mouth, guess not. Still, it looks pretty good.

I think the front mount will fill the mouth it just looks like the fmi is stopping the bottom lip of the bumper lying flat to cover the bottom of the intercooler just needs a bit or a trim.
I hope you dont mind I've put up some pics of my bumper before and after i trimmed it, might help you see what they look like?

Looks good! Next step, respray, or try to buff out that front bumper!

and PLEASE move your radiator hose away from the exhaust manifold, that looks frightening.

Yeah, up and down looks/ will look fine, but I'm saying width wise (left and right). You can see some end tanks. It just looks to be a smaller core than I thought.

Still looks good, and better than a smic.

Your PR kit looks very strange mounted there. My friend and I just mounted his about a month ago and the piping was routed below the fog holes in the bumper, allowing him to retain his fogs on his 97 GSX. Are you sure this is a PR kit? I know they have cheaper alternatives that mimic the PR kit on Ebay. And for those who don't know CXRacing on Ebay sells the PR kits at a cheaper price, and that's who I believe PR partnered with to get them made.

Its definately the pr kit, i bought it off there website.
i have done some trimming of the bumper and such and i will post pics tomorow morning, those old pics on the original post look terrible compared to how it looks now; but ill let the pics speak for themselves when i post them. thanks for all the advice everyone~

Turns out it does, i went and looked at it again and realized i had the t-bar thing upside down :ohdamn:

those were just initial pics so i could see what ppl would recommend, i trimmed the top part off and i adjusted it so it fills up the entire front mouth, it looks much much better :D

the piping is still a little bit in the way of the fogs, the fog housing had to be trimmed a tad. overall though i love this kit and would definately recommend it :thumb:
Pics will be up tomorow

Im just talking about the core itself, which still doesnt. But these new pics look so much better than the old ones. What did you use to trim the bumper (reciprocating saw?)? And how much did you end up paying for the kit? I might end up picking this up until I have an extra $1200 for the big one :)

Looks really good, Props.

I honestly like the look of the end tanks for w/e reason..... plus it still fits up the entire mouth, its like the 2gb bumper was made for a fmic :D it was a great kit for the money($379 shipped!) and it fit very very well, just a little trimming of the bumper. (used a dremel)
thanks for the props~

Are you allowed to put the license plate on the dash? I'm so glad I don't need a front plate in PA.

i wishhhhhhhhh....to the best of my knowledge it has to be up front. otherwise i would put it in the dash....cops pull me over for stupid stuff all the time so i would be asking for trouble (put it this way, i've got 6 tickets, and not even one of them is driving related, or a moving violation/speeding, they are all tags/equipment violations (tint mirror license plate light x2 exhaust tail lights, and had my car searched 3 times <of course they found nothing but they continue to do it> ) :notgood: i'm a target so i cant unfortunately.

deff looks good im going to trim mine the same way with that lil pce out to make the mouth look bigger with the fmic i have a spearco but ill post pics up tomrrow

Cant you put the plate off to one side, like the drivers side? Thats what some people do here in Illinois. I dont run a front plate because it cramps my style. LOL jk. I just dont like it.
