howdy,

well im doin a photoshop project for my class. lots and lots of layers of eclipses, parts(turbos, tt, safc, springs, etc everythign found on one) and i need to know how to change the color of a car while keeping all the highlights just a lighter/darker shade of the color i want.

thanks
phil

ill post my project when done.

yes, thanks... I was trying to do the same with mine. It's red and I was trying to make it grey, but after I desaturated and then did whatever the hell I did with it the color looked way too dull. I'll definitely have to try this approach when I get off duty and get home.

Not trying to be a dick, cause im one to miss class when i can, but arent they going over this stuff with you. Like if its required for a project in your class wouldnt they show you whats goin on. Lol didnt you have some one do the project last time.... Anyhow, your gonna want to create an alpha channel around the body of the car, then start messing with he hue/saturation, contrast, brightness, and your curves. It takes alot of practice to get the colors to look like there really on there. i know the first few i did turned out looking all metalic, ohh and just be patient, cause the first few trys it usually dosnt end up how you want it to. :thumb: good luck

LOL.... ya but that project that i had done i found out didnt work and i kinda skiped chapters in the book:rolleyes: . i found out i have to use tons and tons of layers and not just cars but parts, bumpers, engines, etc. but i know how to do alot with chop but one of the chapters i skiped i noticed was the thing i need help with

clif notes: i skiped and am to lazy to read.

thanks anyways
phil
