starting up in the dsm parts world

I'm just mainly wondering how to get started me and a buddy are trying to make a parts company for dsm's and just want to know how to do this i know a lot of owners of these company's might not want to help because they don't want more competition but still i just wanna try my dream is to own a comany like ets or FP or something soo just PM if you know how to get started or just the first thing to know about running a company anything helps.

You better have some deep financial backing if you want to start a company that can step into a 20 year old market and be successful. The market is saturated with businesses and you'll probably never be able to compete with the big dogs. This particular market is dying (DSM's) so if you want to be profitable long term you will need to expand your horizons beyond just one platform. It's a cut-throat, dog eat dog world with little to no margin left in it. You have to "buy in" to almost every product on the market. To be competitive with prices you will need to get "top level" pricing, which means buying in at the most expensive level. These buy ins are thousands of dollars for each manufacturer that you want to become a dealer for. Most will require that you have an actual business front and not be working out of your garage/house which will add to your overhead. The best way to make money is to be on the manufacturing end of things, which will require even more start up capitol. Best of luck to you guys!
