Well last year we had a few meets and cruises and i had loads of fun so time to start getting ready for the new spring. so here is it.

Bellingham, WA
Chuckanut drive.

first meet: April 18th @1pm
meet at the top of sehome Haggen parking lot off of exit 252. hang out and then possible cruise chuckanut drive.

lets start making a list. all car makes and models welcome so feel free to invite your friends or post up in other forums.

Wow not much of a reply so far, i guess ill be the first .. I think we need to get some bbq'ing involved this year. not just the basic hang out and drive chuckanut, its pretty easy to put one of thoes little bbq's in the back of the car .

Shiskibob get your wallmart/bowling group out. last year we had 15 cars and a few bikes. i am working on more right now. but backing seems slimm.

Well guys i blew another motor. Thats 2 in 6 months . didnt even take it beyond redline.

It had a weird vibration between 4-4300 rpm so i suspected a rod bearing, and sure enough 2 days ago it let loose. Its clanking pretty good the piston hits the head if i go above 2k rpm had a shop do an estimate on it 1200 dollars to fix .


Anyways Is there anyone out there who knows what there doing " no tire kickers" who would want to help me pull this motor in an afternoon. ill have my mechanic there as well who will be doing most of the work. but the faster i get this one out the faster i can go pick up a new engine.!!!!!!

i have a 1 yr warrenty on it so its getting replace for practley free. could just use a little help getting it out so its done faster ......

Ill be limping it to mount vernon at 45mph in 5 gear probably on saturday so saturday or sunday would probably work, if not next weekend will work too.

UPDATE!!! Drove the car from acme to mount vernon, the rod bearing went about a mile from my friends house, so i almost made it. got lucky i guess granny shifted the hell out of it. you know how hard it is to drive a gsx and keep the rpm's under 2000. Well its not relly hard but it takes forever to get up to speed. i had to keep telling myself to be carefull .

anyways helping my friend take the motor out of a van this morning then were going to my car taking out that motor. Then monday ill be in lynwood picking out my new engine.

If I can get my car back up and running so i can make it up there I would be more than willing to help but at this point that wont happen till the end of april. Not sure that is the time frame you were looking at...

Swapping motors in mine as well. I lost my timing belt while doing 60 on the freeway. I am hoping to have mine back on the road in the next 2 weeks. I finally got work today. So parts store here I come....

oh man, i bet that went booooooom!!! i picked out my new motor drove down to lynwood to pick it out personally. looked hella clean on the valve train, no leaks anywhere. Should be good to go.

event canceled as of right now. i dont has any positive yeses and my car is down. so unless i get a few yeses we can still have a dsm meet, but i canceled it on facebook

i'd make it up there but my car is also down, doing a good rebuild and it needs a tune. frank this is joe. why is your car down?? well did u ever finish redoing the swap from the turbo'd advenger??

ok so me and surfinggirl are out for the meet, sorry guys. instead on saturday we get to do a timing belt on her car.

well car is back on the road, it took longer to get the help that i needed to get the job done, being the car was in mount vernon, i had to wait until my buddie had the time to help.. we got it done in 11 hours, that included removing the engine and tranny, stripping the block because we all know thoes japanese engines has completley different setups, reassembling the new engine with all new belts gaskets and seals, after swapping everthing over it dropped in and was started within 2hours, so 2.5hrs out 2hr in and alot of bs inbetween.

So when is the next meet?
