OK, so since I cannot post in any of the other forums, I'll post this here and hopefully someone knows :)

I'm looking at the remote possibility of buying a 1G TSI AWD. Problem is the fuel pump is bad and the car will not run. Now, I have access to an OE 2G GSX fuel pump. All I need is for the car to be safe to drive about 250mi home, where the pump will get replaced by something else, probably a Walbro.

So, question is, will a 2G fuel pump fit into a 1G with no modification to the car/sender/wiring? I need a definate answer to this before I drive up there, ### its kind of a long drive... :)

Thanks in advance. :)

yes and no, it will fit but the inlet will be on the wrong side, easy fix for this is to kinda manuver the line to get it to work although i wouldnt recommend it. As fas wiring and all that it is the same, i did this with my old car cause i was cheap and it ended up kinking the line a few months down the road and i kept getting fuel cut.

hmm, not sure I understand what you mean by that. I'm talking about just the pump itself, nothing else. The inlet to the pump is just a filter "sock" that sticks directly into the fuel. Maybe the outlet?

I wish I had pictures...that would help.

Yeah your gonna have problems,,, and it wont be safe, best bet buy the 1g pump and put it in down there to drive back home.

hmm i guess im not explaining myself that great, not the sock side but the other side. its 180* from where it needs to be, its not that big of a deal but the line can kink
