I'm planning on hitting up Pacific Raceways sometime this year to do some runs. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of tech they do there. I don't want to go and have to fix a bunch of stuff.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks

I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of tech they do there. I don't want to go and have to fix a bunch of stuff.

Be a little more specific, if you could. I am not exactly sure, but I am going up on the 26th of this month w/ some other guys so let me know if you want to go. You don't have to race, but it will be cool to see other guys there. It's just bracket racing, I think on that day. $35 one time fee if you haven't paid this year if you want to race and just $10 to get in if you don't want to race. It's new to me too, so it should be fun.

I was just wondering like the stuff that they check over to make sure you can run.

I race shifter-karts and I know for that you have to have things safety wired/ E-clipped to make sure nothing will fall off.

Is it like that or is just to make sure your car wont freak out on the track. Like hoses, clamps leaks .... that kinda stuff.

Thanks for the help

And yea I might make it down there just to check it out

Put it like this, just follow the NHRA hand book, thats pretty much what you gotta do and how the track is run.

If you running below a 14 sec 1/4mile (or you think you might) bring a helmet.

When you get to the staging lanes: make sure you line up in the correct lane. (from left to right it usually goes trucks/street legal(2lanes)/slicks(2lanes)/bikes.)

If your not doing a burnout go around the water.

Bring your license, and don't forget to fill out the card they give you when you pay, get inspected and get a number before you head to the staging lanes.

I'm going there this sunday, and probably the next and probably the next, so look out for me, weather I have my car or not will be another story.

...so look out for me, weather I have my car or not will be another story.

Too much...too much Rand...you kill me sometimes. LOL...I need to crash... Take it easy man. I will see you here soon probably coming up on one of these Sundays or sooner at the shop. Hit me up when you are there next.

What kinda stuff do they look at while getting inspected, just to make sure all nuts and bolts are tight or what?

This was taken directly from the Pacific Raceways website (www.pacificraceways.com)...

Tech Inspection - What Is The Inspector Looking For?

Tires in good condition *
All lug nuts present and properly tightened *
Proper brakes in good condition
Battery properly secured to vehicle *
All belts and hoses in good condition *
Driver's seat properly secured to vehicle
Proper seat belt/harness *
Check of transmission neutral safety switch
Radiator overflow container *
Proper throttle linkage - adequate return spring(s)
No leaking fluids (oil, gas, transmission, rear end) *
Proper vehicle suspension
No loose articles in vehicle interior
Overall vehicle integrity (windows, body panels, etc) *

Take a look at their website... they have a lot of very informative information regarding drag racing, road racing, etc... The items with a * next to them are the main points that they look for from my personal experiences... Hope this helps you! :thumb:

Yea man thats great. Thanks alot:thumb:

Hope to see ya there either this week or next:talon:

Last time I was there (last year) I was driving an acura rsx type s. The tech skipped my car (I was second in line) and I actually had to go all the way down the line, get the guy, and have him check my car (as I was holding up the entire line of maybe 50 cars.) :p All he did was look in the engine bay and said I passed. He honestly didn't seem to care. Infact, the feeling I got was that the techs hate tuners. Oh well, if everything on your car is tied down and there is nothing weird going on, I'm sure you will be fine. I wouldn't stress about it.
