Simply put: Awesome.

The guys over there treated me like a long-time friend, some of the most personable people I've met. They're a tight-knit group of guys (except when they pick on Bill...poor Bill...) and they truly enjoy what they do.

Sean, the Ring-Leader, was extremely generous, taking the time to thoroughly explain all my questions and concerns. But the highlight of my visits to FFTEC was definitely the opportunity to ride shotgun in Sean's 1g. To my knowledge, he is saying goodbye to this beast, but I got my first, last, and only ride in it just before doing so.

I hopped it, literally hopped, a bar for the roll cage was in the way and I was too excited to move it, and sat down. The seat hugged tight and as I strapped myself in, Sean aimed for the street. "I'll take you for a warm-up lap first." The beefy exhaust tones thudded away at idle, changing to a deep consistent drone as he cruised around the block. "Ok, here we go..."

I don't know if you've ever had your face melted from a nuclear blast...hopefully not...but I imagine the force is quite similar. He didn't even launch. At about 3000rpm, the hammer dropped. There is NOTHING in this world that can compare to the spooling sound of a turbo larger than that of my dad's F250 turbo diesel, combined with the sensation of being launched into outer space (I couldn't lift my arms), followed by the explosive pressure released from the blow off valve, which I was certain would blow the hood or at least the fender straight off.

And that was 1st gear...

Into second! BAM! It all hit again, pinning me helplessly to the seat. The only difference between 1st and 2nd: duration, 2nd last a split second longer.

Shift. 3rd. Ok it's 3rd gear, it can't possibly throw me back that hard again.

Wrong. I could actually feel myself getting dumber as the Gs crushed my brain cells against the back of my skull. Finally Sean backed off and I could breathe again. Actually he didn't back off, we just got to a stop sign. "Wow man that was insa-AWW JESUS!" as he romped on it again!

I have to thank the guys over there for their hard work and for just being cool. They've got the whole package. They've made a repeat customer out of me and I just wanted to share my experience with other potential customers.

I encourage others who have gone to FFTEC to also post your experiences here as well. Thanks, and hoped you enjoyed!

I've been to my share of shops back in the day but once I set foot on Full Function. I never took my car to another shop. Sean is what many call a DSM God in the bay area. They're extremely helpful and actually explain to you what's going on (Not something many shops do)

They're proven with many 400+whp customers. Great fabrication skills, they have a dyno facility, they can get any part you're looking for, they do a clean job on all their work, FFTEC has the works.

I recently saw someone mention how it cost too much an hour for an exhaust... I know you can go around the corner to some guys Muffler shop and he will make one for $200. All I can say to that is you get what you pay for and at FFTEC you really do get quality when is custom. Sure it cost a bit more but I haven't had any problems at all for almost 2years, no leaks, welds hold, clean job and again quality.

I am glad you learned somethin about good quality Luis. haha
I have been around Sean for the last 7 years. We've played with afc's, itc's, vpc's hacked maf's then moved on to Haltech's and many other interesting parts. I have seen him grow so fast and learn enormous amounts of inofrmation over 7 years that it amazes me that not all people in the bay area know about him. We've tuned and worked on cars until 5, 6 in the morning until the car is how it's supposed to be. Sean always wanted to be known for real performance cars- high horsepower cars but a lot of people in the bay area had no desire to go fast, just look fast. Sean assisted customers on the side of the freeway in the middle of the night, delivered cars personally to another state (almost- close to Oregon) and his dedication was never fully appreciated, but I always tell him- One day.....

The whole crew at the shop is well trained and friendly with customers, no matter if you own a 400 hp car or a 50hp rice rocket. I would suggest you check out the website and give them a call.

Along with everyone else, I agree that FFTEC is great. I've had many opportunities to hang out there over this past summer and everyone is really friendly and helpful. In terms of workmanship, everything is top notch. I've had my intercooler modified by sean and the welds look superb. When my car wasnt running quite right, he didnt kick me out of the shop because I was there past my dyno appointment, rather we worked on getting it fixed. He came in early the next morning to help me tune my car. And I must say he spends a lot of time on those tunes, getting everything just perfect.

As for his 1g, that thing is nice. It's fast and the fact that it was daily driven is impressive as well. Hopefully my car will be something like that someday. ;)
