I was driving south on 880 around Hayward/Fremont around 9PM and came up on a modded 1Gb AWD. I just wanted to say,'hi' it was pretty cool to have a random DSM sighting, especially a modded one! Does anyone know who this is? It was night, so I couldn't see much, but it has a rollcage inside, lowered and stiff suspension, one of those exhaust tips that turns up, FFWDtec.com stickers on the side windows, and big aftermarket wheels. I couldn't see the color but it was a darker color like grey or green.

my money is on sean from full function, but I've been wrong before. How was the drag strip tonight dave?

wait a minute.... south 880 at 9pm,... YOU DIDN'T GO?!?!?!??!!

I can still see you make an 11 second pass on the 14b, YEAH!!!!!!

Yeah, I went. The turnout was low enough that I got 6 runs by 8 O'clock and left early. see my post in the 'Infineon Wed' thread.

you know he swapped from the 2.2 to a 2.0 and he told me he went from 400 to 340 whp, but that the 340 wasn't tuned very well, so he could get a few more ponies out of it, but the huge drop in hp was still going to be evident no matter what. 200 ml makes such a difference apparently....

That looks like the car I saw.
How'd I do? Well, after racing at the track, with it's accurate timing and definitive starting cues, the innacuracies of street racing has become very apparent. So I wouldn't call it a street race. I'd call it a friendly greeting from one modded DSM'er to another. Besides, I've seen how other drivers 'race' on the street, and it's insanely dangerous. That's not me. Our 'greeting' helped me compare the top end pull of my tiny turbo vs his, and let me just say the 14b ain't no top end turbo. :)

Oops, it's FFtec, not ffwd. I mixed up two different shops.

Hello Boost Demon. Check out our thread titled 'Infineon Raceway Next Wednesday' there's a bunch of us who make plans and meet up there.

Translation: You got violated. It's all good ROFL
OK smarty, here's another one for you to translate:
'I had the advantage of being able to observe his accelleration without averting my eyes in the least.' :)

Thanks for the invite, I hope to meet ya'll soon . Something I noticed was that It seems like you get more runs in at Sac., but the track is better at Infineon. Overall I was very suprised at the difference in the two facilities WTF .

thats funny, because from most people I've talked to, sac turns faster times, (some people think this is due to the uphill climb at the end of infineon's track) and that sac always has better track prep. I've never been to sac so I can't really say from a first hand point of view, but its interesting that you say the opposite of what I'm used to hearing.

My buddy had to let up on alot of his runs in his 430+hp GTO because it would feel like the rear wasn't getting traction at Sac. When we were at Infineon it was to late to run by the time we got there:coy: , but the track looked better and I have heard the same thing about the two tracks also :) .

I've been to both. Screw Sac! Infineon is better.

But then again, I've only been to Sac with my FWD and I've only been to Infineon with my AWD. I took my AWD to Sac once and my tranny was giving me problems so all I got was one shitty run. Even if track prep is worse at Infineon, you get a big advantage of cooler air temps at Infineon, plus you don't have to drive through ghetto-ass Sacramento.

on the topic of dsm sightings, today while driving to pole vautling practice (which btw, I found out pole vautling with an empty stomach and hung over actually makes you vault better for some reason, still don't understand that one...) I saw a black 2g eclipse with a 4 inch angled muffler and a hoop wing, debadged, and very clean. As I approach the car, I slowly start to see a large, round thing on the dash....(remember, MINIVAN) and realize its a 5 inch tach with a shift light, just like the one honda ricer boy bought. Then, when I finally get next to the car, I see a guy with very short hair, and my jaw drops, IT WAS ZACH!!!! then the guy turned and looked at me and I realized it wasn't but he honestly had to be his cousin or something. I think he was pissed at me by the look he gave me because I was staring at him trying to make up my mind if it was zach or not. I think it was just some random gs with a huge muffler and no badges...

^^^haha I'm a ricer but not that big of a ricer!

P.S. - Sears(Infineon for you people new to drag racing:p ) sucks the big one. Either place you go to(sac or sears) sucks on wednsday so that's your problem. Go to a test and tune and Sac blows Sears out of the water in the track prep department. Sears however, is a much much much much nicer facility and better track but they don't care about track prep just making money from retarded high school kids in civics rolling through the water box and then burning out on street tires.
