Here is my story... for a week now I have been hearing a knock in my engine getting louder and louder by the day.my friends at racedezign put it on the lift and the drivetrain by the transfer case has a lot of play, it wiggles a lot. so I have a buddy drive it while on the lift and the knock is definitely comming from my transmition. And the mechanic who is a friend of mine tells me the tranny is gonna go any minute. I have called and searched many junk yards in the area and finally found a 7 bolt w/tranny like mine with 111k miles on it going for 1,800 but will sell the tranny alone for 800... I had always wanted to build my engine but didn't want to fix anything that is not broken, now I have a chance to either build my 7bolt or go with a 6bolt and exchange parts from my existing motor. anyway I could buy all these things brand new from various on line vendors, but was wondering if anyone in pdx had a tranny or a 6 bolt motor for sale (yes I did check the classifieds). Or had a good dsm shop that could point me in the right direction for building a good 6 bolt motor with my 7 bolt parts... if anyone could help me out that would be awesome!
I have another car I drive so having my car down for a while is no problem... I want to make sure I'm doing it the right way once!

I 'm planning to keep my dsm for a while! I don't want to sell it!
