Not sure this is the right spot to put this but it's about bolt on .
This is about my findings about a dead isc motor that came off a 1g with water inj. .This car came to have idle rpm problems so went to put a good one on but before we just put it on I tested the old one and it had a shorted
winding inside ,so I just hooked a good one to the plug and turned the key on and it did not work .After futher checking I found out it fried some parts in the ecu and after trying to get the isc apart I found it rusted up to the max
So to see how water could get in it I took the back off a good one and sure enough there is no seal between the pental part and the motor section :nono:
So under boost with WI pre TB water can get forced into the motor and cause all kind of trouble like dead ecu and isc .This car had WI for about 2 year before this happend ,and this was one of the ISC that was plastic with no back plate on back like the metal ones and the Oring seals on it where in good shape so there was no way for water to get in it from outside migh be something to think about .

I have it on my car also and afraid to check out my isc.
Cause I realy like my WI .but now not sure it's woth it as I see no solution for this problem .
Has any body else had this problem ?

I doubt its the WIs problem it maybe something else exibiting the same symptoms, Im sure the WI companies like SNOW would have found issues like this an fixed it, I believe the water just sucks up the heat in the IM so cooler temps going into combustion chamber, and once it hits that it atomizes, I dont think WI would rust it out.
EDIT Guess my assumtion was correct.

I agree if it was delayed death there would be a lot of people with the same problem I found . Will get a chance today and inspect my isc as I have had it for about 3 years with no known problem .But I still dont like the fact that there is no seal for the motor part of it .I'll put of pics of the one that died and info on my isc latter .

I inspected mine on my car and found no rust but it did have a lot of the oil I put in my W/M tank so it must have helped alot . Even enough to have some drops in it . The one in question hardly ever had oil put in it's mixture (mostly -20*whasher fluid) and I did most of the time and will for sure all the time now ,I even found the oil I use drain out of the hose going to the BOV .So I would conclude based on my findings any thing in the intake track will get push into things connected to the intake track . You may ask how do I know it's the oil I use in my WI it's because it has a very destint smell and taste :barf: and was well present .

For the FIAV seal we had just done a manny swap and saw no evidence of it leaking or anything out of the ordinary but know way to rule it out at this time 100% . We used Dexcool atifreez in it and the rust in the bad one had no smell of it and the chemical analysis (taste test) was negitive also .

About the only thing I can say from the evidence I found is to run some kind of oil in your injecton mix .it migh help on the ISC motor but for sure the pump and related part of the WI injection system and some lube for the intake valve guides .My 2cents
