not absolutly sure if this is in the right fourm but here i go anyways.

Im rebuilding a 6 bolt block for my soon to be 92'. i am having it bored .020 over. will be running a 16G, 2G pistons and eagle rods matched to the crank. I was wondeing what things for nitrous should i do while its apart. I would like to run ~400 HP with nitrous, so im guessing a 150-200 of a direct port shot.

Im new to NO2, but know its potential. what other things will i need to "safely" spray that kind of power? should i look into special headgaskets, or a hotter distributor? Does spraying a boosted engine make it knock a lot? What about detionation?

Sorry for all the questions, but im trying to learn, and this is what i couldnt find.

Doubtful that 2g pistons will handle a 200 shot, but it's not even neccesary to run that big of a shot to get 400hp. For the cost of a direct port system and all of the safety feature's (Rpm window switch, fuel pressure safety swich, bottle blanket, etc.) plus installation, you should be able to hit your goals without the nitrous and have a more reliable setup. I think it would cost you more in the long run to go the nitrous route.

I will be starting with a stock 6 bolt 4G63, like I said before, I am having it bored .020 over, putting 2G pistons with 1G rods. will be running somewhere in the 20-25 PSI range. I think with nitrous this setup will be really fun. but do you really think 400 WHP is achiveable with out NO2?

but back to my orginal question, do i have to worry about detination/ other engine conflicts?

What mods do you have besides the engine mods you are planning? Exhaust, fuel system, turbo, engine management? Stock type pistons will not handle that much nitrous, a 75 and maybe a 100 shot with excellent tuning. You will need forged pistons. 400 wheel horsepower is easily achieved without nitrous, it's not cheap but it's not difficult. My talon is well over 400 wheel horsepower, my brothers Galant is right around 350 and my cousins eclipse is over 400. All without nitrous. I would hate to see you blow up your motor with that much nitrous. Check out my mods and you will need pretty much the same stuff to get 400 hp. I do have nitrous but I only use a 50 shot to spool my turbo.
Let's see what supporting mods you have and then we can go from there.

25psi shoudl get you into the 350+ range anyway whithout nitrous easily. As long as your tuning is ok and you have the supporting mods for it you should be able to achieve that pretty easily. You would only need a 35hp shot to gain an additional 75whp. You would be over 400whp with 20psi and a 35hp shot on your car.

isn't that kinda dependable on what turbo he runs though
