I want to remove my tcase and driveshaft for reasons i wont get into.. All I have is an output shaft connecting to the tcase.. So my thought is to just remove these and badabing FWD.. Nothing is different except the deletion of the power to rear?? I have to weld the VC together? Why is this? and can't i just leave the tcase on without the axle if it has to be there? I dont understand..WTF

Wow, another local dsmer, LOL. As for your question, I never heard of anyone having to weld the VC but I also don't know anyone who wanted to convert awd to fwd. I'd personally say hold off on converting it to fwd. It's a dsm, so give it time and the output shaft will eventually break anyway and then BADABING! There's your fwd, haha.

in a stock transmission when you start to spin most of the power is sent to the rear tires. so when you burn out your car would lose power. just leaving the t-case down there or just removing the output shaft for it to make a fwd car would be a very bad idea.

Because the only thing stopping the center diff from routing all the power to the now disconnected rear end is the VC and it would last very long trying to send the power back up front.

Welding the VC or installing a spool is the only way to fix it.

WTF? lets here why you want to make it fwd THEN we will tell you if its worth it. Also is it auto of 5spd? Ive ran a 2g auto AWD minus the transfer case for a few weeks. (bought it with a trashed Xfr case) and was told it was bad JU JU but ive heard mixed opinions on this. Tell us why you're wanting to do it.

JU JU ROFL love it

vibration "under load" so bad it causes a cd to skip. Smooth in reverse. Smooth drift. Had on lift, axles are all fine. I have 2 tcases same thing with both, one is very low miles. On lift under load the tcase jumps then straightens out. That is the only thing that wabbles. An oh yea the rear wheels have locked up on my 3 times once at 80mph..

an sorry its a MT (tranny/motor/ 1 of my tcase JDM)

Nobody wants to talk now....

I'll trade ya my fwd 5 speed for your awd!! haha
but wouldn't you have to put a fwd trans in it?
