i have a 91 gsx and i bought a buschur manual boost controller but now i need to kno how to hook it up because the shootout is this weekend and im kinda stuck wit lines everywhere haha. if someone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated thanks
 
I have the same one. The arrow under the logo is the direction the boost will flow through it. One line should got to the j pipe and one to the waste gate actuator. Turn the nob to the right to turn it up!
 
You can tap there but IMO, Nearest the compressor the better. Like Cyclonekid said, there arrow shows direction of boost. So one line from the j-pipe to the inlet of the MBC, then another from the outlet to the wastegate. Do you have a gauge to know how much you are actually boosting?

Listen to this guy.

Don't set it up like you linked. Tapping off the BOV line has been proven to cause problems. And you need a boost gauge before even thinking about installing that.
 
then how does stock run because i dont have a boost guage and im a little low on cash for a decent boost guage

You can see that the j-pipe sends a boost reference to the boost control solenoid, also the intake has a hose with a vacuum reference to th solenoid. There is a T in the boost line to the wastgate. With the MBC, you bypass all of that. You just run straight from the J-pipe to the MBC to the Wastgate and cap off the intake so you don't have a vacuum leak.

Now I don't know about Huron, OH but in Ft. Wayne our Autozone's even stock Autometer gauges. I think it's like $50 for a boost/vac gauge, no mounting tho.
 
yea ill ###### get one either at the shootout or after depending on if i have time to stop and get money or not. but what do "mods" consist of? because i didnt know if my car having a built engine, walbro 255 and full apexi 3inch counts or not?

You just opened up a whole can of worms beyond just an MBC. The motor and exhaust are fine, but you need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator for the fuel pump or you will run rich.
 
yea i unfortunately found that one out the hard way, whats a fpr run in cost?? is it bad to run rich? i kno ill b fouling out plugs but yea can anything else happen?

Best case scenario: You run like crap, constantly foul plugs, no bid deal in the short term, but will eventually clog your emissions systems and catalytic converter.

Worse case scenario: your compression isn't 100% so you get alot of fumes and blowby into your crank case, it thins your motor oil, your motor grenades. Highly unlikely.

I got the entire kit from Import Evolution. You can also try Welcome To Extreme PSI as they have good prices and I've always gotten excellent service from them.
